This is a test print from works created subsequent to my shows at Roebling Hall and Sara Meltzer's on view. It will be signed as such.I continued this series without ever planning to show whilst I embarked on different bodies of work because I loved the process. This series of photographs blend murky pop colored liquids & surreal light sources with landscapes, portraits and psychologically loaded objects. This fish like looking object is actually a vinyl (?) doll's head turned inside out. The hair is flowing out the opening of the cut-off head. The bulbous 'fisheyes' are actually the inverted sockets of the doll's eyes, inside of which are those blinky vacuous lash-batting orbs. My desire in creating this image was to staticize and capture the perceptual abyss that yawns when regarding media-peeps; the recurring tsunami of cardboard individuals who populate the never ending oil slick surface of American culture. Ideally this work will eventually find it's way to becoming the largest billboard in Times Square, and will be a key image in Disney's re-envisioning of BladeRunner.
