Sarah Vogwill is an artist and graphic designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts (1990) and attended the Whitney Independent Study Program (1990-91). An accomplished photographer and installation artist, recent work has focused on mining the rich archives of images preserved in print media and proliferating iterations both virtual and digital. Working with various approaches to printmaking, drawing, and montage, a layering of images, patterns, and fragments of language convey a simultaneity of felt moments or—living without time. The construction of subjectivity emerges as the ongoing project, radically dispersed yet magically registered on the social body.
Prints and Polaroids are available at Recession Art. Multiples and editions are currently available through Fuse Works and Shag. For more information please visit the artist's website sarahvogwill.com.
