This current series of paintings was done in 2013 and 2014. I bought a couple of small animal skeletons because I thought they would be fun to draw (they were). More and more objects started collecting around the skeletons, and they became visual diaries of my life during those few months (a time that included my dad's death). I think of them as "Un-still lives" although the use of skeletons is very much in the tradition of "vanitas" paintings from the Dutch tradition. The French term for a still life, "nature morte," of course means dead nature.

These paintings are offered with the understanding that the adopter will pay for postage and packaging.
