NMS—Nature Matching System developed by Tattfoo as a reminder to consume your daily recommended doses of color. Printed offset as a place mat. The shades of color display at farmers’ markets are more than skin deep, reflecting the inner potential of every fruit and vegetable; intense colors might even be called nature’s nutrition labels. They get many of their colors from phytonutrients, compounds that play key roles in health and reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. The more colors come together at a meal, the better. Sadly, marketer for junk food had apply the same technic used by nature to pollinate seed to their nutrition deprive product. Color became a device that can do good or be deceptive and causes unhealthy eating habit. The color on the place mat shown above are all actual food colors, taken from photographs of various fruits and vegetables. Match your meal to the place mat—it is truly a rainbow connection.

I was thrilled to read that this vibrant visual was actually representation of the glorious colors of food from the earth.
Not understanding that it was an unlimited edition of placemats-brilliant!-I wrote Tattfoo and offered a trade of works. By the time we set a date to meet at my home so he could see some work- I understood his project and Tattfoo had informed me he would bring along the original proof print to trade for something.
He and his wife came and we talked as they looked at work in the apartment and on the Mac as well... they both liked a suite of 16 Homemade Chocolate Covered Sex Polaroids on our living room wall so I gave Tattfoo his choice. The piece he chose is called 'Splendor In the Ass'. (The Polaroids of my partner and I are completely covered in chocolate so only the title references the underlying image.)
Tattfoo does wonderfully generous conceptual work and I'm looking to forward to having my original proof of his Nature Matching System framed for our kitchen. My first acquisition ... FAANtastic... OW!

We traded the first pressing of the placemat multiple for David's Chocolate Covered Sex Polaroid.
