This piece is from the Journeys, States & Locations show way back at Joel Beck & Jessica Murray's Salon 75 on Roebling. This was the first showing of my work which blended murky pop colored liquids and surreal light sources, with landscapes, portraits and psychologically loaded objects. #1 of 5, cibachrome mounted to plexi. (UR-BANE adj. showing sophistication, refinement, or courtesy. I also considered titling this 'The Corporation' Pick up in Chelsea, NYC. NOTE: If packed and shipped- charges will be invoiced via email thru my PayPal, you pay with credit card. In the states the total should be about $75.00

The adopter, LAURA COOPER, writes:
I received this piece from Dave and can I tell you it was like waiting on a present. I originally spoke to Dave because I liked another one of his pieces that it turns out had just been adopted. We chatted just a bit and I asked him if I might adopt this one. As an architect and a second generation removed Catholic I found the subject matter to hit very close to home. I was lucky enough to be able to adopt the piece and I have to say the website does not do this work justice. The greens that show up in person are such a stunning contrast to the yellows that I was shocked. I am very happy to have adopted the piece and I found Dave incredibly easy to work with on the adoption and nice to chat with while details were being worked out. I plan to enjoy this piece haning on my wall for a very long time.

Laura contacted me and described her response to my work as 'comfortable and yet intrigued'. She said she wanted more things like this around her to bring her to new thoughts. What's really fantastic about this adoption is that Laura moved to New Orleans prior to Katrina and decided to stay and help rebuild the city. She works within an architectural firm specializing in the institutional arena... hospitals, elderly housing etc. It seemed perfect to me for sub-urbane to hang in a home focused on architecture, in a city where vast numbers of buildings stood fast a few years ago but now are in the throes of disintegration, destruction, renovation and rebuilding because of a massive atmospheric event. It strikes me as perfection that this piece might provide Laura a welcome blend of the tragedies that took place on the living body of architecture in New Orleans and the reborn structures that she will work to materialize in their place.
